The team behind Kadence
The Kadence Team
Kadence is built by a small, deliberately lean team of serial entrepreneurs and operators. We have started, scaled, and exited companies before, and several of us come from inside the life insurance industry, where we saw firsthand how much agency growth leaks away to slow follow-up, disconnected tools, and manual busywork.
Built with the field
We build Kadence in close contact with the people it is for: independent agents, agency principals, and the IMOs and MGAs who run distribution at scale. One of our early partners is OM Financial, one of Canada’s largest MGAs, an A-tier firm serving high-net-worth life insurance and estate-planning clients. Working alongside an operation at that scale keeps the product grounded in how agencies actually grow.
How we research and review
Every guide, glossary entry, and report is produced through a documented research-and-review process. A piece begins from live, cited research broken into specific sub-questions, and before it publishes a verification pass checks each statistic and named claim against the retrieved source text, not against a model’s own judgment. Unsupported figures are stripped, softened, or replaced, and a piece whose core claims cannot be supported does not go live.
Sourcing standards
We cite primary sources: regulators, official licensing and exam materials, industry bodies, and first-party data over aggregators and content farms. Regulatory claims are checked against current rules, statistics are attributed to the source that produced them, and every source link is tested for a live response before it ships. Our lane is one rule: operational guidance for running and growing an insurance business, never individualized financial, tax, or legal advice.
How we keep content current, and fix mistakes
Content decays, so we review and refresh published pieces on a rolling basis and only ship a refresh when it materially changes the piece, never a cosmetic date bump. When we get something wrong we correct it: email hi@startkadence.com with the page and the issue, and we update the piece so the fix reaches the next reader. The full process, including our corrections policy, lives on our methodology page.
Why we stay lean
We are heads-down building. You will not find a wall of headshots here yet, and that is on purpose. The work is in the product and in the results our early partners see.
